I'm so excited to participate in my first LDS Blog Train. Last month they did the theme of Eternal Marriage, and the papers and elements and everything just turned out gorgeous!

So I couldn't resist joining in this month when I heard the theme would be Called to Serve. I myself served as a missionary back in 1997-1999 in Thailand, Bangkok!

A beautiful and enjoyable Progressive Scrap!

For my first time ever at hosting a Progressive Scrap, I think I did okay considering I came down with a severe case of Pneumonia near the end! But everyone was so nice and patient and the layouts are just gorgeous!! Hurry over and vote on your three favorite, but trust me it is hard!

And of course I can't compete in my own Progressive Scrap but I played along and came up with this layout of my girls at the Tulip Gardens Festival which I really really like! It is from my now finished ANTIQUE GARDEN kit newly released!

And I now have a new laptop which I am posting this from mostly because I am in bed with this awful pneumonia, and it is just not fun!!

So I was going to give away my next beautiful set of Bragbook pages away but they are not yet on this computer as I had thought. I promise they will be here tomorrow!

New Beginnings & Kits

Well, I kind of missed the boat on succeeding in one of my New Year's Resolutions this year... which of course was to blog more often! So... now it is March.

But I've decided I will start my "Resolution" now at the start of Spring! So starting next week, I will start blogging at least once a week. Wish me luck! :) Life just gets so busy all the time! But the kids are getting older and I should have more time, right? Riiiiight.

The Grandmother Heritage Collection

I have a freebie today from my new kit, Erma, currently on sale in my stores. I've started a new collection called the Grandmother Heritage Collection. I'm really excited about it. This quick page freebie is from a layout I did with my great-grandparents, one of which the kit is named after:)

Check back as I'll be doing a mini-kit in the colors and styles of each of my grandmothers and call it by their name. This is very special to me because most of my Grandmothers have passed on. Because I am the oldest of an oldest child, I actually KNEW 3 of my 4 great-grandmothers in addition to my two grandmothers. I also have two step-grandmothers who are dear to me, only one of which is still living. So we grew up with grandparents in abundance!

I've started off the collection with ERMA, who was my great-grandmother who lived in the same town as us growing up so I saw her every week for 16+ years of my life until she passed away. And we were quite close. I still remember sitting at her feet as she told stories of growing up which would have been in the early 1900s. Here's my new kit, Erma:)

A Little Halloween Freebie!

My goodness! I can't believe it's been a month since I last posted. So much for once a week. But... my dh was laid off from his company very unexpectedly, and I've been having to share my computer with him as he searches and hunts for a new job. I was about to get a laptop, too, but now that's on pause for a bit. Anyhow, I do most of my designing late at night now between getting used to a husband at home and the ever demanding sweet children. And I've managed to finish a kit! Just in time for Halloween, too. It's called Black Hats and Scaredy Cats, and I love it! It's on sale for a limited time now at DID. Click image to grab it.

It has more purple than other traditional colors cause I love love love purple, and orange has never been my favorite. But my dh loves Halloween, and is corrupting our children to love it year round as well. So I've learned to actually like orange a little.
I've done a layout of my dd as a witch from 2 yrs ago. She wants to be a witch again this year after taking a break to be Snow White last Halloween. I guess this is good cause witches are less expensive to be. LOL

So I finally took the time to try to figure out how to use my own designs for my blogware. It took some time, especially with all the many usual interruptions and distractions that come with being a SAHM of 3 little cuties. But here it is finally in all it's glory. I'll be back with more later, but for those interested, the designs on this page are from my new kit, Belle of the Ball, which will be released shortly. Stay tuned:)

Okay, I know it's not New Years or anything, but time for a new resolution just the same! Because I really want to pursue designing, I must update and utilize my blog more often! So, my new resolution is that I blog at least once a week.

I need to pick a day of the week that will be best for me to blog on so that I for sure get it done. Wish me luck in this new endeavor...

Newbie with a new kit and new CT!!!

Life is so busy! Summer is supposed to be the down time for digital scrapbooking so maybe that'll give me more time to get my designer act going. LOL As a new designer, I can't believe how much there is to do to get going. I started selling at my first store today! It's called SumScrapper. And all the ladies there are so nice! Here's a post announcing me. They have some really talented designers there. You should go check out their stuff here! My first kit hit the stores today just in time for July 4th. And there will be more kits to follow!

I'm excited about a new kit I just finished called Oh So Pretty. I was inspired in part by the song, I feel pretty, Oh so pretty. But mostly I was inspired by my pretty girls who even at their young ages already love to be told "Oh, so pretty!" I will try to get a freebie on here with it soon!

In the mean time, I now have two CT members! Yay. My first very first team:) They were both on Silly Beans Scraps CT with me and they are AWESOME! More to come, but for now here is a layout from Amy: (click image to leave her some love)!

I'm posting a layout my wonderful friend, Helen created with my kit. She is CT Manager at DID, and she is amazing! And I know it's silly, but I almost cried when I saw this cause it is my FIRST EVER layout someone did with one of my kits. Wow, this Designing thing is time consuming! But so very fun! I love it! Just wish I had more hours in the day to work on it. Here is my 4th attempt at designing a kit. These are just not my colors so it was tough starting, but once I got going, I loved it! It's called Retro Daydream because it takes me back to my early childhood in the late 60s/early 70s. A magical time when you could just sit and dream about the future ahead. This kit is retro yet sparkly and pretty. 20 elements! 9 papers and 1 Alpha! Check it out! Image is clickable. Happy Mother's Day to all moms and grandmas out there! I've had a lovely day so far. Other than my dh thinking he was being "playful" by pouring a cold cup of water on me while in the shower. :P (He thought I was going to take too long in my nice warm shower and make us late for church.) He's never done anything like that. Not his usual thing. So should I be flattered or bugged that he did this precious thing on Happy Mother's Day to me. Took me forever to get warm again. haha

Anyway, back to Mother's Day. I did this layout to my daughter for my mother in celebration of Mother's Day-- Things My Mother Taught me that I hope to Teach You. Made with a beautiful new kit by Dancing Princess Designs called Butterfly Heaven! So many pretty things to choose from in this lovely kit! Get it here at GDS.

Wow, this has been a crazy week! I was able to get a couple layouts done, and my 2nd entry for the NDIDDS contest as well. In between in-laws, doctors, drama, etc. LOL

So here is my entry kit. My 2nd time ever designing. Out of all kinds of comfort zones! But it is such a fun learning experience. I am learning so much! I extracted jewelry of my own that used to belong to my Grandmothers that have passed on. So I called it Grandma's Jewelry Box. Love especially the pearls, and I did a lot with roses because they always remind me of both my grandmothers, and especially my Great-grandmother who I was blessed enough to know as well until I was about 16 yrs old. It has 8 papers and 16 elements, and this 2nd try of mine is FREE! Yes, my 2nd Freebie ever. You can download it for free here at JDL for a limited time!

National Scrapbooking Day

There is so much going on this week. It's getting exciting! So much I want to do and so little time. But I will lose sleep if need be! This is just too fun! I'll be back to post some fun layouts with amazing kits from my various designers. But in the meantime, check out this contest going on at DID!

Since I CT for this site already, I signed up just for the learning aspect of it. I have NEVER designed a single thing ever. I'm turning 29 tomorrow...April Fool's!

I've been meaning to start this particular blog for a while. Not sure what I'm waiting for because it's for my scrapbooking addiction, and I'm definitely feeding that by scrapbooking in any spare time I have. In between the many demands of a 4 yr old, 2 yr old, and a 9 month old, as well as teaching piano, originating loans, and keeping my hubby happy (not sure which is the toughest!! LOL), I manage to be on the Creative Team of Shannon aka Silly Beans Scraps. And her designs are so gorgeous! You can see two of my layouts on her blog from yesterday. And, I recently was offered a CT position with Tiger Lily's Digis and Digital in Designs and I am so excited for that!

And even before all that, a nice lady in Australia, Cazzie aka Cazzie's Scraps, asked me to be her CT when she opened her new store. I'd always meant to get started on it, but when I had to have surgery in January, I was forced to "rest" so I rested at the computer, completing layouts for different contests and getting very involved in the super fun Digital Scrapbooking world! And I am addicted...

So, I've been busy. But aren't we all? Finally, my goal was to get a post done by tomorrow, my birthday on which I turn 40 (April Fools! haha okay I guess I really will turn 40 so nevermind. I wish it were a joke. haha) I was born around 3 am in the morning, and my mom said she was so upset cause many she called didn't believe she was really in labor being 2 weeks late already! LOL Back in the days where they made you wait till the baby came on its own. haha Luckily, after my 1st baby at 10 pounds 1 oz, they induced me 2 weeks early with the next two I had. Anyway, I digress...

Here is the first layout I will post simply because it tells a little bit about my story. I did it for a contest at GDS with the beautiful kit Waiting for You by Majula. You can click on the layout to go to my gallery there.
